Isnt leg on to kick …
Isnt leg on to kick with both or one leg?

Keep pressure on …
Keep pressure on the horse’s side as an aide. Just add more pressure to keep him moving. Be sure to relax your ankles so they don’t hurt after a long hack and you’ll be able to use your legs without getting tired.

What does ‘leg on’ …
What does ‘leg on’ mean i took my horse out for my first hack out of the school he kept like tripping up, i was told to keep my leg on, i was i felt tight on him calf wise and giving him prompts to keep going, what was wrong???

she tells you to “take control of the inside shoulder” but she doesn’t explain how to do that.

Try the one that …
Try the one that says ‘Rider position” etc, it is very helpful, and all about posture, it is by the same person
December 22nd, 2009 at 12:22 pm
So, this is more …
So, this is more about horse balance and body mechanics — not the rider. Nothing has been said about the rider and his/her posture, or how the rider should be in the saddle. This is hardly what I would call beginning riding instruction.

I do agree with …
I do agree with tallyfolly half way. I do agree with her on your hfoot should not be flat is should be somewhat pointed and the other thing about spurs. I do not agree with her about the whole you need a new instructor thing.

Apparently you have …
Apparently you have no clue about horse and what is good/not good for them. My suggestion would be NOT to comment unless you know your subject. Try using proper english as well, this is a learning site, not a “brawl” sessioin…clean up the lanuage!

Third – the spurs …
Third – the spurs are used to increase communication, not to jab the horse. and one of the reasons why your heels must stay down is to avoid accidentally jabbing the horse (apart from balance reasons). Please learn how to take advise or accept other people’s view. If you are so bitter on Youtube, I cannot imagine what you are like around horses. Ciao and peace.
December 22nd, 2009 at 12:22 pm
Second – the toes …
Second – the toes pointing up are a necessity. You dont want to keep your feet flat. thats is plain wrong. I dont know who taught you that, please change instructor.

your angry attitude …
your angry attitude makes you the last person to be talking about horses.
First – she is not yanking. she is flexing the horse at the poll and she relaxes when the horse gives his head
December 22nd, 2009 at 12:22 pm
your supposed to …
your supposed to tap your horse with the spurs. lightly. if they dont respond, a little harder, until they do respond. and unless you use really really sharp pointy spurs and jab them with it you will not hurt the horse, they are way tougher than you give them credit for.

fuck off she isnt …
off she isnt yamking on his mouth , softening his mouth , wat are u smoking , u are a complete wit if anything she is going to make him hard mouthed and the horse up , if u had a piece of metal in ur mouth and someone was pulling on it would u relax , NO u would tell them to off , same as a horse
December 22nd, 2009 at 12:22 pm

Okay, first off. …
Okay, first off. Spurs do not hurt you horse unless you don’t use them properly. People that wear spurs lightly touch the horses sides, and just don’t “dig” them into their bellies. Obviously you don’t know how to ride because you’re supposed to keep your heels down while riding. She wasn’t yanking on the horses mouth either, she was trying to keep his head level and still.

stupid women take …
stupid women take ur spurs off , they achieve nothing but hurt ur horse there is other ways to disipline without digging pieces of metal into the horses belly, how can this video be about balance , when the riders toes are pointing to the skie , its like trying to walk on ur heels , u have no balance , u should have ur foot flat so u can distribute ur weight evenly , and stop yanking on the poor horses mouth , he’s doin nothing wrong u wanker

dude no she duznt …
dude no she duznt she is holdin the reins really loosely actually! ur supposed to hold them a lot tighter… i dont think she needs more training!
December 22nd, 2009 at 12:22 pm
The Horse doesnt …
The Horse doesnt find any comfort zone to relax, because auf the rein pressure. i totally agree.
December 22nd, 2009 at 12:22 pm
Rider needs to …
Rider needs to lower her stirrups and let go of the reins. How is a horse suppose to enjoy a halt if there is no release of bit and rein pressure. He’s obviously standing still so she needs to let those reins loose.

man, she does NOT …
man, she does NOT have soft hands:-( No replying
December 22nd, 2009 at 12:22 pm
This girl sitting …
This girl sitting on this horse needs to stop pulling on that horse’s poor mouth. She needs more training than the horse does apparently.
