Help I am a beginner rider and want to know what a good breed of horse would be!?
I am a beginner rider and I am looking for my first horse. Does anyone know any suggestions? I want a breed that might be easy to handle and is very loveble. I really need to know ASAP! Thank you for all who can answer. Bye.
dont look at just one particular breed. You need to look at the individual horse itself. Throughbreds are known for their high strung spirits but I’ve seen some of the calmest horses that were throughbreds…..and a lot of people will recommend a quarter horse but I’ve seen some quarter horses that were just plain crazy.
What I’m trying to say here is that dont judge a breed but judge the horse itself. Any breed can be easy to handle and very loveable……but could you say that about every horse?
good luck in searching for the horse of your dreams!!!!

Halflingers are really great! And they are short, and sweet. But, Quarter Horses, in my opinion, are the best horse to have!!!

Either a quarter horse or Australian stock horse gelding. Steer clear of arabs and thoroughbreds and mares can be a bit temperemental. Also look for a horse thats a bit older, say 15 to 20. My quarter horse is 22 now and still a great horse to ride. Good luck!
