Does anyone know about buying a horse from the glue factory?
I want to look into buying a horse for the glue factory. I hate the thought that after they get what they need the slaughter them. so i want to try to save a few. anyone know where to get info on it. or where to look. no im not looking for the already slaughterd horse or foal. i want a live one to save. if you can help that would be great
okay.. the slaughter yards will NOT sell to you.. so you have to buy them BEFORE they get purchased by the slaugher yard..
they are purchased for MEAT – most of the feet actually get sold to farrier schools – NOT glue factories.
here is one main supporter of the meat industry…

most people are NOT even aware of this.. you can buy foals from them for sure…
or go to the auction markets for bottom end horses,.. there will be some really baddly off ones that go to slaughter but also some nicer ones too. ask a livestock feed store about the auctions.. they will also know about PMU barns too (see the link above)

You can go to the horse auctions and you will often be bidding against the meat houses. That is definitely saving a horse. If you don’t know much about picking a horse that might be good for riding or horse health, bring someone along who does. We once nearly bought a beautiful black horse from a herd of broodmares. There are lots of horse available this way. You will need to look up horse auctions in your area. There is an auction house in Pecatonica, IL.
