For my 15th birthday, I’m asking for a horse. I stopped riding for a year so I had to sell my old horse. I ride equestrian and I have been ridding for about 4 years. I do hunter jump courses and my height is 5′5. What are things I should look for so I can make sure I can ride successfully with my horse? Thank you!

Age: Between 5-20
Height: For you, 14.2- 17 hands
Temperament: Kind, gentle, easy to work with. Kind eye, not drugged. No vices like cribbing, sucking wind, or weaving.
Health: No major lameness or problems (get a pre-purchase exam)
Training: 100% broke, not a green thing about it. You haven’t ridden in a year and you really can’t handle a green horse.
Conformation: Good legs, good shoulder, good bone are most important
