What’s the best leather conditioner or oil for model horse tack?

Is there a huge difference between leather conditioner and leather oils? Obviously the tack isn’t being ridden or worn it just needs to looks nice for showing(display) purposes.

It’s LEXOL. Little pieces of leather need the same care as big pieces of leather. Exactly the same.

Hi everyone

I own a few online businesses and one of them is personalised horse gifts. I’m thinking of changing it as I don’t have the time and staff to mange a major printing service, so I’m changing it to an online tack shop.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I could call my shop? I don’t think the name it has at the moment suits it very well…

Decorating ideas for a mud room to look like a horse tack room?

Were getting a mud room put onto our house and I would like to design it so it looks like a tack room. For example were going to use bridle racks to hang jackets on. Does anyone have any other decorating ideas, websites, or pictures that would be helpful for this?

Is a horse and tack auction a good place to buy tack?

Im getting my first horse and boarding it a my trainers barn. I saw an ad on craigslist for a horse and tack auction and though I wouldn’t buy a horse from an auction, I thought it might be a good place to possibly buy a saddle or bridle. Good Idea? or should I stick to a store or catalog?

it can be but only if you know your exact measurements and your horse’s measurements, if you don’t its best to stick to a local tack shop or catalog, that way if it doesn’t fit, you can potentially return it. but it can be a good place to find good deals, most tack shops have a consignment section where you can get sale saddles and head stalls, and bridles, hope this helps ♥

look for tack made of Biothane! thats what most white tack you see are. look up biothane bridles and breast collars and you’ll find em!

How To protect your horse tack?

ok so today we cleaned out are shed and im wanting to put my horse tack in there since its takeing 0over my room. how to i protect its from getting moldy?
well all my show stuff is staying inside becuase it was expensive and i dont want to take the risk on my show stuff getting ruined, the stuff thats going in teh shed is mainly just extra stuff i dont use.

I would test the shed first with a few bits of tack parts that you do not care about. Your shed could be in any number of climatic conditions.

Security and proper ventilation are of the utmost importance. After you find out how humid or dry your shed is, you can visit D.I.Y. shops for proper solutions.

I have found that mixing some Ti (tea) tree oil concentrate into leather cleaning solutions helps without irritating skin. Be sure that it is true oil and not just a fragrance.

Okay this is some profession rider and I have fallen in love with the bridle, ear net, martingale, and breastplate! Can anyone tell me wear I can get this tack! I am show jumping and I need new horse tack! Thank you.

Horse tack wholesalers and starting up a tack business?

I’m starting up a small tack shop, and I need to find a good tack wholesaler. I’m beginning with the small things, halters, saddle blankets, maybe a few browbands here and there. Which ones do you have experience with? It’s going be run solely online, through Ebay for the used saddles I already have and Amazon for the new stuff, do you have any advice for someone starting up?

The only tack wholesaler I know is Darragh Equestrian Solutions LTD. it’s run by the woman I got my horse off. They seem excellent, don’t know if they have a website.
