See The Land Man

I am getting a horse soon this week (first time owner- can’t wait! lol) and don’t know what exercises to do the first few times riding.
The mare I am getting is a 9 year old tb and she is a hunter/jumper.
Any suggestions on the first few rides (I ride english by the way!)

i was wanting my own horse and sometimes it says ‘not a novice ride’ would i be a novice? i can…
walk/trot/canter
ride bareback
ride without stirrups in all gaits
jump verticals about 3 foot
jump consecutive jumps
do some dressage (eg. leg yeilding)
and i can ride horses that bolt/buck etc (however, i prefer not to lol)
am i a novice rider?

A beginner is someone who doesn’t know squat….and a novice has little experience but not in the situation to teach someone else

i know how to care for ahorse and ride fairly okay..can trot and canter but sometimes still get it wrong, looking to loan a horse but the lady says her horse is a good all rounder but not for a novice, you need experience…what u think? am i too crap a rider?
