I have been browsing and this one horse I found is right in the town I live in, and CHEAP. The only problem I see with this horse is it looks to be built downhill. Could it possibly, with training, be a dressage horse. Btw, I am only @ training level, and would like to progress to 2nd level with whichever horse I choose.

Any horse can do basic dressage. But this one….I can’t see it doing first level, much less second. The first answerer said it all – there is more to this horse than just being downhill.

Downhill, long back, short legs, neck set on very low. This horse is going to be married to the forehand, and anything beyond training level would be doubtful.

Since you are only riding at training level, you need to have a horse that will help you get higher. Look at the pictures with people on this horse; it’s not the saddle that is causing the chair seat they have! The downhill conformation is making them sit on their back pockets just to keep from sliding off the front end.

    Keep looking.

    ahhhh,
looks more like a western trail horse
    i dont really think so
but i guess every horse has potential if you trail it right
but its probably not gonna have much of a chance in the competitions
since the rest of them are so expensive

she’s a nice looking mare, BUT shes nice looking for the discipline she has been trained in. i bet she runs barrels beautifully and would be a great WP prospect. but i don’t think i would take a 15 year old horse that has barrel raced and competed in speed events the majority of their life and try to take them to dressage. it would be a hard transition.

    i agree, keep looking

i would have to say its not built for the english discipline. a slight maybe on training level but if you wanted to show it probably wouldn’t place. i would say look at some other horses as this one wouldn’t fit with what your looking for.
