I’m currently … I’m currently training a 4-year old grandson of Gribaldi. Haha! Far out, I know. His name is Napoleon and he’s a son of the Danish bred Grand Prix trakehner, Zardin Firfod, who’s a son of Gribaldi. I’m training Napoleon according to the classical principles – which means NO contact in the reins in the remount-phase, neck stretched out of the body, nose in front of the V and a relaxed, raised back. It’s not flashy at all, but it makes him strong and prepares him for a long, healthy working life.
he is a bit lazy … he is a bit lazy behind in the passage and piaffe.. and aswel he didnt stop square at the start. i think his extensions are really good and he has really nice head carriage.
I don’t know what … I don’t know what vid you were watching, but his piaffe is fine. He’s very correct, his canter piruettes were fantastic as were his extensions. A judge looks at how well the horse responds to the rider, and if they stay relaxed during each movement. and this horse was even during piaffe, which is really hard to do. Don’t compare horses, it makes you close-minded.
