What type of horseback riding boots should i have for dressage and/or jumping?
What kind of riding boots are there for dressage and jumping. Would someone also be able to buy riding boots for both (assuming that you are on a beginner or possibly intermediate level). Are there also any types of boots that are from a decent company for under $150?
Tall boots are kind of expensive, so if you want tall boots you’ll have to look around for something that’s under $150. If you’re just doing low level shows, you can use field boots for dressage. But, dress boots always look nice. But, dressage dress boots tend to be stiffer, so you’ll want ones that are hunter dress boots. So for now, I would just go with field boots.

Here’s a nice boot that’s not too expensive, but doesn’t have a zipper. Dover has lots of different kinds of boots, so you can look around the site or catalog more!
Hope I helped!

Ovation has some boots in that price range. You can get them at Dover. Yes, you can use the same boots for both and you can use dress or field boots for either dressage or jumping.

You need a nice pair of knee high black boots. Don’t buy "field" boots, the ones with the laces at the ankles. If you buy a good leather set, they will last for YEARS. I have had mine for almost 20 years. I only use them to show.
Check out state-line tack or Dover. They usually have some good deals. Also e-bay might have some good used ones, if you don’t mind second-hand items. Clean them as you would your saddle, then put on some good shoe polish. Make sure to stuff them with newspaper or something to keep their shape when you aren’t using them.

The thing is tall boots for jumping have laces and are called field boots. For dressage they don’t have laces and are called dress boots. But in the lower levels of dressage field boots are fine. It just depends in what you are mainly focusing on…if it’s dressage then go with dress boots, if it’s jumping then field boots.
Go to http://www.doversaddlery.com they have a good selection and you just search "tall boots" and sort by price.
