what is a good brand for saddle soap for cleaning horse tack?
i just started riding this horse and the tack room is filled with leather like bridals, western saddles, bits ,different head pieces, and training equipment the owner of it all asked me to clean it but it is my first time doing it and the leather is really old so i don’t want to mess it up
so i was wondering what would be a good brand of saddle soap and what type of clothes and sponges should i get?
and if you have any advise on how to clean it that would be great thanks.
My friend uses Fiebing’s Saddle Soap. I recently bought some and it works really well; no greasy or filmy residue left over on it. I like to use a nice soft old rag or really soft sponge that they use on cars for polishing.

I think plain old Murphy’s Oil Soap works better than anything.

Murphy’s Oil! It’s as good as it gets for any type of leather tack. All you need is a normal round sponge (you can find them at any equine store). You pour some on, and take the sponge and work it into the leather. You want to do it the night before your show ETC..
For show boots, it will also break them in. Otherwise, you’ll have sores on the back of your legs if your riding a sport like Dressage.

There are several however I used olive oil and Farnum saddle soap .
I am older I could not think of Murphy’s oil soap that is better and the Olive oil of course. I oiled my saddle and bridal afrer every use which was once a day.
