What size horse for a 1.6m heigh ,7 stone novice teen rider?

And what about cobs as a breed?

i think anything about 14.2 would be perfect for you.
i think a cob would also be an excellent choice, as i’ve somewhere that they’re hardy and dependable, esp. for beginners.

i’m not sure what a stone converts to in us measurments, but you should be about10-15% or less of your horse’s weight

    A more important factor than your prosepetive horses height is it’s training. Make sure you buy a horse that has had enough training for you-not a green horse.

    Most horses and ponies would be able to carry a person of your stature comfortably. I’m about the same height any I would find anything above 15hh the perfect size. You should also think about whether or not you will be growing anymore in the future. If you think you might be growing a lot more, go for something a little larger.

    Cobs are a breed that I personally haven’t had any experience with but I have heard nothing but good about them. I believe that they are able to easily carry around full grown adults so I don’t think you would be a problem.

    Honestly, you could buy a Shire or Clydesdale and be well off. It doesn’t matter about the size of the horse. It’s the horse’s training. Find one that has good training and has been used by kids and you’ll be great.
