I have a palomino horse which lives out at the moment. I just took his rug off to change it, and he roll’d in wet mud, and it sticks in his mane, how in the world do i clean it so it goes back to his natual colour. He’s a very light palomino so his manes like white. Help!
He doesn’t like jet washers, etc, it must be a sponge, or a little hose, etc. help..
my horses love love love the mud and everytime they get clean in the winter they go take a roll. it drives me nuts. the easiest safest way to deal with this in the winter months is to wait for it to dry and when they go in at night give them a good brush. I use a rubber curry comb and it gets the majority of the crud out. You can also do a wipe down with baby wipes or a wet rag. Doing full baths in the winter isnt an option for me as I have no where heated for them to dry. Also with the mane I would braid it. That is what I do less dirt gets in no tangles

Try a jet washer

Try any soap with a blue coloring that’s safe for animals. Blue helps to whiten the white.

leave it to dry then brush it out… or… wash him. Cripes if you own a horse you should know how to look after it!
